During the 16th China (Shanghai) International Boat Show (CIBS, 14-17 April 2011), the Asian Marine & Boating Awards were presented on Friday night at a gala dinner gathering 400 professionals of the yachting industry. During the ceremony, the Prestige 60 was honored with the prestigious title of “Best Motor Yacht” award in the 40 to 75-feet category. A major event for the Asian yachting market, the Asian Marine & Boating Awards reward the most competitive players in the region. A jury composed by 13 independent judges, among whom stand the most respected yachting journalists of the region, was in charge of the selection. The judges particularly praised the innovative design and engineering of the Prestige 60 that combines the IPS technology with an exceptional layout and use of space. This Asian success comes in addition to the title of the “European Powerboat of the Year 2010” which crowned the Prestige 60 during Düsseldorf boat show last year, right after her launch. Not only the Prestige 60 is the choice of the media, she is also the choice of the Chinese clients. On the first day of the China International Boat Show, the Chinese distributor Speedo Marine concluded the sale of one boat on the Jeanneau booth, the sixth unit of the Prestige 60 being sold since her launch one year ago.

Prestige 60 launches in Asia
On march 3rd and 4th, 2011, Prestige Yachts launched their flybridge 60-footer in Asia. The event was taking place in the Da Mei Sha marina in Shenzhen (Southern China).More than 25 journalists from the most influential Asian yachting and luxury media had the opportunity to test the flagship motoryacht from the Jeanneau family. They could also exchange during a press conference with Jean-Paul Chapeleau, Jeanneau CEO; Jean-Francois de Premorel, Prestige Director of Product Development; and Vittorio Garroni, Designer/Architect, who traveled to China for the occasion.
On the night of their arrival, the guests were accompanied to the beach to enjoy a glamorous dinner by the sea. Coming out from the dark, they discovered the beautiful lines of the Prestige 60 sailing by the beach, spotted by two 4000W projector lights.Awarded ‘European Powerboat of the Year’ at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January 2010, the Prestige 60 was received with the same enthusiasm in this part of the world. Thanks to the presence of the product development team, journalists could better understand the secret ingredients of the Prestige 60’s success: a smart combination of design and technology.
Everybody stepping on board was first impressed by the huge space that comes from the one-level interior layout and the large uninterrupted wrap-around window. For the technology part, the pair of Volvo IPS900 placed under the cockpit delivers a better efficiency along with less noise and vibrations and great maneuverability. Once out of the marina, the passengers could appreciate the comfort of the deep-V hull, designed by Michael Peters, that delivers excellent sea-keeping, and has a very positive yet gentle feel and response to the helm. They could also enjoy the extra-large flybridge and easy circulation everywhere on the boat. Back to the marina, they could test the joystick-controlled slow-speed maneuvering system linked to the IPS pods that enable effortless parking.Beside its unanimous recognition by the media, The Prestige 60 is also a commercial success in all parts of the world and China is no exception: five units of the Prestige 60 have been sold into China in the last ten months, reinforcing Prestige’s position as a leader in the 40 to 60 feet market in China.
